Your Child's Eyes
Children obtain the majority of their new information through their eyes. Any visual impairment or delay in visual skills can be detrimental to learning and potentially cause long term problems throughout schooling. It is highly advised that all children get their eyes tested before starting school and every year whilst still at school. This ensures that any problems or subtle changes will be identified and helped.
Common Symptoms of Visual Problems:
- Complaining that the blackboard is hard to read
- Complaining that the page goes 'fuzzy' for reading up close
- Getting headaches during or after school
- Holding the book too close for reading
- Sitting too close to the tv
- Rubbing the eyes
Although these are the most common symptoms there are many more which may go unnoticed. At Urban Eyewear we have a multidisciplinary team that takes a special interest in children's vision. We look at both the health of the eyes as well as the functional aspects to provide a complete assessment. Whether it be in the form of glasses, contact lenses or vision therapy we strive to maximize the quality of your child's vision in all areas, so that they may reach their full learning potential.
